Lady Marmalade - Christina Aguilera, lil Kim, Mya and Pink

2002 Interscope Records: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQa7SvVCdZk&safe=active

This Music video showcased women from different areas of music, Pop, RnB, Hip Hop, Soft Rock. This video was released, it was surprising as it was racy and showed a lot of skin, it can be argued that they were encouraging women to show more skin and be seen as sexual objects, however, I believe that it empowered women as the rapper wasn't a stereotypical man and the there was no men in this video just showcasing women and their achievements as all these women struggled to get to where they are as the music industry is dominated by men so to have a video like this released shows how far women have come in the music industry, it also shows that different types of artists can combine and work on a song that appeals to different audiences.

This song was also a remix of the original by the girl group Labelle from the 90s. It is sang in French too which shows how diverse the music industry is aswell and that music reaches out to many different types of people around the world no matter the language it is sang in. Even though I didn't understand what they were saying, I still sang it, and also the appeal was all the artists in the video and how glamorous they looked, as a child i didn't see it as sexual, i just saw it as cool.

Q6 what have learnt about technology from the process of contructing this product?

  • The first ever piece of technology that I used was 'Blogspot'  which is a blog. This is where I  published information on production companies, summarys, clips, evaluation questions and frames used to showcase what me and my class have been studying. Blogging has helped me a lot with learning how to share and discuss my newly found knowledge and also my interest in media as a whole.
  • The second technology was 'Youtube' , this helped me gain sources such as clips and videos to help illustrate my ideas and thoughts with ideas on my scary movie opening. You tube has helped not just me but my whole class to learn how to use such technology such as photo shop.
  • Premiere Pro helped me as it was to me the first and most important technology that I used in the whole course as it helped me edit my Horror movie opening and i learnt how to use all the extra tools provided which helped my horror movie more interesting.
  • Photo shop is helpful when trying to make our production company logo as it makes it look More professional and helps the movie opening look as realistic as possible. I learnt how to crop the pictures, save them as a gif so that it could be viewed on my horror movie opening.
