Class Presentation on my music video

I did a presentation to the class with my partner and we had to talk about our storyline and if our music video conforms or subverts the stereotype of the genre. We also had to talk about possible problems we would face when making it and our target audience. The feedback we had from our peers about our video and ideas for it were such points as:
  • How will we create the 50's look
  • Heart transplant plot will be hard to create
  • Might be too complicated
  • Where will we get the costumes from
  • The idea is good and different as it subverts the genre

  • How will we make the storyline clear in the video
All of these points are really good and we will take them into consideration when making our video

Music video Mood board

In class we individualy made mood boards, these were meant to relect the look and feel of our music videos. My mood board shows the olden time theme hensforth the black and white theme in the middle. My music video is going to explore complicated love bu set in the 80's/90's (the concept might change but this is the idea for now). I chose to use a woman who looks ill in the left hand corner as one of the main characters in my music video will have a health issue. This also reflects on the colours, they are dull as I want everyone to know how she feels through the dull colours. The old man in the middle is the father of the girl, we want him to look old and maybe a bit possesive as he doesn't want his daughter to be led astray. Most of the pictures show the female to be hidden either behind sunglasses or a hat or the lighting, this shows that she is shy and very isolated.

Project Britney!

My whole class was given the task to re make Britney Spear's video of 'hit me baby one more time'. This project was demanding but at the same time rewarding. I was given the role of finding extras for our video and also to be one of the back up dancers. During the shooting of the video there were some difficult moments with the choreography and also the locations as it was shot in school. We had to re-do loads of scenes to make sure we got it perfect. After we shot the Video, we had to each individually edit the footage we shot and for me this has felt like the best editing I have done so far in my media course as I have now become comfortable with Premiere Pro so this allowed me to play around with the footage like cutting the sound and making sure everything is in sequence and it flows. The hardest bit for me was to get the dance moves going exactly to the slow beat, I had to use the speed and duration to manipulate the footage but in the end it seemed to work out perfectly, also I had to cut bits of the song so that the video could match with the sound. Overall, this project has helped me develop further skills in my editing which I will need later on for my music video, I have learnt that it will be a challenge but at the end with the right work, it will be very rewarding to see the final video and know that my hard work has payed off.
