Q.7Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

From doing these practice tasks, I learnt a lot, especially when we were give specific things we  needed to include in our tasks. We had activities such as making sure we had the right camera angles to suit the mood of what we had learnt and also make sure we knew how to use these shots correctly. An example is from the first ever filming task I did with one group, the mistake we made was doing an over the shoulder shot but the character's hair was in the way, so from then on, I knew that every time we I do an over the shoulder shot, I should make sure that it is correct before displaying it to an audience. From the prelim tasks, I also learnt how to edit my work properly, at first me and my group did not use the facilities that were offered on Premiere Pro but when we got comfortable and started doing more practice, we eventually got comfortable with putting in effects, making the film go faster/slower, putting the volume up and down etc...
As we can see, my filming skills developed, this picture board shows different shots from my horror movie opening BabyScissors. The prelim tasks helped me develop different styles and different ways in shooting. By the time we had done all the practice filming, when it came to the real shooting of the movie opening, I felt confident that I knew what I was doing, I knew how to use the camera and how to shoot great shots to create a scary effect as it was a horror movie opening!

Shot type used in each picture:
Prelim task: Over the shoulder, Close-up, Two-shot and long shot.
BabyScissors: Long shot, High angle shot, close up and mid shot/split screen
